March 4, 2010 DEVOTION Jesus gives us another concrete example of following God’s will when he says in Luke 22:42 “….not my will, but Thine be done.” Our mission is to follow God’s will, whatever that may be. This is good advice for us at Harrisburg First as we are praying to find out what God's will is for our church. Pray without ceasing but at the end of your prayer add..."not my will, but Thine be done." This is what Jesus said as He was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane asking His Father to take from him his cup of death...the Cross. We know the outcome of this prayer. The Father said, "No," but rewarded His Son with a new body, eternal life, and the complete defeat of the evil one. Folks, God is on our side and will reward our efforts of praying to Him. Just remember always it is His will that needs to be done and not that of our own.
Blessings Always,
Pastor Wayne
